Don King présente un film sur l’autisme

Don King est à Saint-Jean-de-Luz pour le Festival international du Film de Surf.

Il y présente 3 films dont « Beautiful Son », inspiré de l’histoire de son fils Beau autiste.

L’histoire : In 2003, Hawaii filmmakers Don and Julianne King realized something was wrong with their three-year-old son, Beau. Beau was losing his ability to speak, play with other kids, and was becoming disconnected from the outside world. Determined to help Beau, his parents brought him to the best doctors in the U.S. and took along a video camera to document the results. Two months later, Beau was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

On apprend dans Sud-Ouest que Don King prépare également un documentaire intitulé « Race across America » avec Laird Hamilton qui tentera de traverser les Etats-Unis d’Ouest en Est à vélo (et non en paddle board…). Les bénéfices seront reversés à la recherche pour l’autisme.

La femme de Don King a créé une fondation www.beautifulson.com.
